5 Suggestions for Choosing a Carpet Cleaner

Hello, everyone. Here at Hydro Clean, we would like to take a minute to acknowledge how important it is to keep your carpets clean. We have accumulated over thirty years of experience in the cleaning industry. With that in mind, here are some suggestions we have for you when it comes to choosing the best carpet cleaner for your home.

Carpet Cleaner

Look for Truck-Mounted Equipment

One of the many things that homeowners must be vigilant against is an unscrupulous company looking to take advantage of you. Many carpet cleaners prefer to use a machine that you could already rent. When you see a truck with equipment mounted on it, you know you are working with a reputable carpet cleaner. This is important because the machine costs several thousand dollars and represents a significant investment. It uses the truck’s engine to provide power, which means it has around 300 horsepower and is not run by a generic machine that you can bring into your home. These machines are between a half-horsepower or one power in capacity, which won’t do very much cleaning. Also, make sure that all of the trucks and equipment are kept clean and well-maintained.

Choose Square Footage over Room by Room

Next, be sure to use a company that charges by square footage instead of by the room. Companies that look to charge by the room will rush through the job and not do it properly. In other words, they won’t give your home the respect it deserves. When you choose a company that charges by the square foot, you end up paying less money when all you do is make sure that the smaller hallways, closets, and the rooms are cleaned. In other words, you can target specific areas with high traffic and not the entire room.

Evaluate Quotes for Service

Now, evaluate the prices that you have quoted for services rendered. The amount that you are quoted should include everything that is needed to get the carpet cleaning job done – for instance, the pre-spray, the spot removal, and even moving the furniture around so that the cleaners can access the carpet they need to clean.

Read the Website

Take some time to read the website. If the site is professionally done, then it indicates that there is pride in the website. One way to tell is if there is plenty of information; when pride is taken in the site, you can feel confident that the carpet cleaner you contract with will take pride in their work as well.

Choose Local Businesses

Finally, choose local businesses over larger franchises. Local companies often have the owner act as the manager. The manager can then supervise the work being completed and take responsibility if anything should go wrong.
